Catalog of the exhibition held in Florence from October 24 th, 2014 to January 18 th, 2015, the volume presents a set of 80 paintings, mainly coming from a single private collection and never exhibited before, of a great interpreter of Tuscan art of the Twentieth century, often underrated by critics. First pupil of Annigoni, Alfredo Serri (1898-1972) became a painter after leaving music: he was violinist in the orchestra of the Teatro della Pergola. Stefano De Rosa writes: "The elegy, the intimacy, the melancholy, the nostalgia for an ancient elegance are the elements that nurture his painting. Serri painted driven by a sense of belonging to art, supported by the conscience of working in full respect of a trade that in his eyes exuded sacredness". Texts by Umberto Tombari, Stefano De Rosa, Emanuele Barletti.
