Mad Jack Halloran's wife, Sarah, has a problem. Jack won't give his treasure back. (Apparently, giving his treasure back will be good for his soul.) She has tried persuading him but he won't listen. Unfortunately, Jack can be very stubborn when it comes to matters of returning treasure. Persuading Jack to part with his treasure isn't the tough bit though; finding it is. Malcolm Mair is a retired teacher who occasionally works as a delivery driver to supplement his pension. Whilst teaching in junior high, he had a problem during story time - there was always someone in the room who’d read the book he was reading to the class - so he decided to write his own. Thus Mad Jack Halloran was born. Having written stories for children, when he was teaching, he decided to take up writing full time on the basis that he’s far less dangerous behind the keyboard of a computer than the wheel of a 21/2-ton truck.
