Peacock Parade

As Percy Peacock gets ready for the annual Peacock Parade on Charit-Tea Day, he begins to question his abilities and view himself without talent. But with the support of his family, Percy discovers that his gift is to see the good in others and make them smile. He changes the parade forever by distributing his hearts with "phrases of praise." Through colorful, heartwarming illustrations and rhyming text, this story helps children build self-esteem and empowers them to celebrate differences. It shows every child that he or she has something special to share with the world. The author includes an inspirational section with activities appropriate for parents, children, and teachers who may want to have their own Charit-Tea Day.

LeeAnn Piermont Camut graduated from Rosemont College with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and from the University of Pennsylvania with a master’s in social work. She was employed for a short time as a preschool teacher and as a psychotherapist/social worker after graduation. She is the Founder/Executive Director of Be the Light of the Party Foundation (www.giveparties.org), a newly formed non-profit organization that sponsors parties for the homeless and other disadvantaged groups in the United States and England. This is LeeAnn’s first book, although she has been writing poems and short stories since the age of nine. In her spare time, LeeAnn savors the art of cooking and recipe writing. Her recipes have been published in magazines including Better Homes and Gardens, Cooking Light, and Delicious Living. She lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania with her husband and two children.
