Abandoned in the Alaskan Arctic under the magical Northern Lights, fourteen-year-old Allison Atwood discovers secrets in a remote culture not her own. MaryAnn Easley is an award-winning author and educator. Her first novel ＂I Am the Ice Worm＂ won the Junior Library Guild Selection and ALA Quick Picks and is currently sold by Scholastic Books under the title ＂Alone in the Ice World.＂ Several of her juvenile novels are based on her personal experiences living in remote Arctic villages. Born and raised in California, her three years among the Iñupiat people changed her life. She developed an understanding and appreciation of the collision of cultures. Chosen Teacher of the Year three times, she’s now teaching writing to adults and children and presenting assemblies as an author in schools. Her other books include ＂Dog Woman,＂ ＂Belly Up,＂ ＂A Few Screws Loose,＂ ＂Looking Out for Lindy,＂ and ＂Warrior’s Daughter.＂ She’s currently completing a World War II novel entitled, ＂Knuckle Down.＂
