This colorfully illustrated children's book is about a talking tree, Miss Bertha, who shares her wisdom and her love with the animals of the land. The book is based on the biblical teaching that God is our creator and He loves us. Although we are created differently, we all have special gifts and we are all special in His sight. This lesson is learned after a fire breaks out in the land and all the animals must work together using their special talents in order to save Miss Bertha from the fire.
This book is a teaching tool of Christian values. Short Bible passages are available for adult and youth readers to share.
The authors seek to pass along the legacy of wisdom, love, and the values imparted to them, their siblings and families by their mother, the late Mrs. Bertha Ann Torrance, for whom the talking tree is named.
